My name is Isabelle and I am the current Cognition Assistant at Capuchinos de Taboga. I graduated from the University of Michigan in May, 2025 with a double major in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience as well as a minor in Environmental Science! During my time at Michigan, I worked with a variety of species including wasps, freshwater fish, and tropical frogs before completing my senior thesis on the evolution of ownership and possession norms in rhesus macaques. I am very interested in the evolution of behaviors and intelligence, and specifically how ecology plays a role in the evolution of certain behaviors and cognitive capacities.
Extracurricularly, I love being outside! I enjoy hiking, scuba diving, rock climbing, kayaking, and pretty much everything in between. At camp, one of my favorite activities is reading in my hammock, listening to birds and howler monkeys.
